Why we make this easy

Your data was never ours to keep.

Most companies bury data deletion behind a support ticket, a phone call and a retention offer. We don't, for one simple reason: you lent us your details so we could show you deals worth eating out for. The moment you want them back, you should get them back.

This isn't goodwill alone — it's the law, and we'd rather over-deliver on it than do the bare minimum:

  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), Section 12(3) — you have the right to have your personal data erased.
  • Section 8(7) — once you withdraw consent, or once the purpose we collected your data for is served, we are obliged to erase it, unless a law requires us to hold on to it.
  • Section 13 — you have the right to a working grievance channel, and a named person who answers.
  • IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, Rule 5(4) — personal information may not be retained longer than it is needed.

Exactly what happens to your data.

Permanently erased

  • Your profile — name, email, phone number and city
  • Your account login and password credentials
  • Saved favourites, preferences and search history
  • Your voucher wallet and redemption history
  • Every marketing list, push token and waitlist entry
  • Support conversations and chat transcripts
  • Device identifiers and analytics IDs tied to you

Retained — because law requires it

  • Invoice and tax records, kept for 72 months from the due date of the relevant annual return (CGST Act, 2017, Section 36)
  • Books of account, kept for 8 financial years (Companies Act, 2013, Section 128(5))
  • Payment records held independently by our PCI-DSS compliant gateway, Razorpay
  • Anything tied to a live dispute, chargeback or lawful order from an authority

What "retained" actually means here. Financial records sit in a restricted accounting store, separate from our product and marketing systems. They are not used to contact you, profile you, target you or rebuild your account. When the statutory period ends, they are deleted too. Everything in the left-hand column is gone the moment your request is processed.

After you hit submit

Five steps, and you're gone.

1

We acknowledge

Within 48 hours you get a confirmation email at the address you give us.

2

We verify it's you

Within 7 days, a one-time link lands in your inbox. This protects you — without it, anyone who knows your address could delete your account.

3

We erase

Within 30 days your record is deleted from our live databases and every third-party tool we've synced it to.

4

Backups roll off

Encrypted disaster-recovery backups can't be edited in place. They expire on a rolling 90-day cycle.

5

We confirm

A final email, so you have a record of it. Then that address is deleted too.

Request deletion

Delete my data.

Use the name and email you signed up with. If you were only ever on our waitlist and never installed the app, this still works.

We keep a minimal log of this request — your email, the date and the outcome — as proof that we honoured it, as required under the DPDP Act. Nothing else survives.

Request received.

Check your inbox — a confirmation email is on its way within 48 hours, followed by a one-time link to verify it's you.

Nothing gets deleted until you click that link, so keep an eye on your spam folder too.

Good to know

Questions people actually ask.

Do I need to be logged in, or even have the app installed?+
No. If we hold data on you — as a user, a waitlist signup or a partner contact — this form reaches it. That's the point of asking for your name and email rather than a password.
Can I delete my data from the app instead?+
Yes. Open the Mingle Deals app and go to Profile ▸ Settings ▸ Delete account. It runs the same process this form does. This page exists so you're never dependent on having the app installed.
What about the restaurants I redeemed vouchers at?+
Partner restaurants see a redemption code and, where you chose to share it, a first name. We instruct partners to purge that record too. Any data a restaurant collected from you directly — a loyalty programme, a reservation, a feedback form — is theirs, and you'll need to ask them.
I only want to stop the emails, not lose my account.+
Choose "Marketing only" in the form above, or hit unsubscribe in any email we've sent you. Your account, vouchers and history stay exactly as they are.
Can I come back later?+
You're always welcome — but you'll be starting fresh with a new account. Deleted data cannot be restored, by us or by anyone else.
What if you don't do it?+
Write to our Grievance Officer at support@mingledeals.com. If you're still not satisfied, the DPDP Act, 2023 gives you the right to escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Prefer to email us?

Send your name and registered email to support@mingledeals.com with the subject line "Data deletion request". Same process, same 30-day clock.
